Aleut Federal LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the AFSCI enterprise. You will provide senior technical leadership for integration, sustainment, and development of mission-critical government systems.

Responsibilities include enterprise optimization, governance of Windows-based services, and guidance for lifecycle planning. A TS/SCI with Security+ is required, with long-standing DoD experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, systems engineering, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
• CompTIA Security+ CE is required.

Job Category: Technology Requisition Number: SYSTE003997 Aleut Federal is hiring for a Senior Systems Engineer for the AFSCI enterprise. The Senior Systems Engineer provides advanced technical leadership and enterprise-level support for integration, sustainment, and development of mission-critical government systems.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Integration, Sustainment & Optimization

• Provide senior-level technical expertise to optimize enterprise system performance, reliability, maintainability, and computational efficiency.
• Lead resolution of complex technical issues affecting enterprise deployment, operations, and sustainment.
• Identify systemic improvement opportunities and provide authoritative recommendations to enhance enterprise service delivery, resilience, and scalability.
• Ensure enterprise capabilities align with mission vision, scope, and operational priorities. Technical Leadership & Guidance
• Provide senior technical guidance for server configuration at Enterprise Service Centers (ESCs) and supported sites.
• Establish and enforce best practices for enterprise services, including email database sizing, mailbox quotas, backup requirements, and service performance optimization.
• Lead technology lifecycle planning efforts including upgrades, modernization initiatives, refresh strategies, and sustainment planning. Enterprise Change & Implementation Leadership
• Lead the planning and design of significant enterprise system changes and improvements supporting evolving mission requirements.
• Develop and approve design documentation, build guides, and implementation plans used for enterprise deployments.
• Ensure all technical solutions include comprehensive test plans, validation procedures, and acceptance criteria to verify operational objectives and capabilities.
• Provide authoritative updates and resolution strategies for technical issues that may impact enterprise rollout, continuity, or long-term sustainment. Requirements Analysis & Capability Integration
• Lead the review and assessment of enterprise requirements and solution designs to integrate new capabilities into existing or planned environments.
• Evaluate opportunities to enhance automation, improve service efficiency, and increase aggregate enterprise capabilities.
• Ensure compatibility, stability, and operational readiness of integrated solutions across enterprise systems. Enterprise Service Continuity & Quality of Service
• Lead technical efforts to ensure enterprise service continuity and acceptable quality of service across all sites.
• Provide specialized support strategies for legacy or constrained environments, including sites impacted by high latency, low bandwidth, or large user populations.
• Guide migration and sustainment efforts to maintain reliable access to core enterprise services.
• Provide senior technical oversight and guidance for Microsoft-based enterprise services including:
• Microsoft Exchange
• Active Directory (AD)
• Domain-based Distributed File System (DFS)
• Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
• Ensure enterprise services leverage platform capabilities for performance, resiliency, security, and operational continuity. Program Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as senior technical advisor to the Program Management Office (PMO), providing expert input on system risks, solutions, alternatives, and enterprise impacts.
• Collaborate with government leadership, operations teams, and technical staff to ensure enterprise systems meet mission needs.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers as required.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (master’s degree preferred), or equivalent relevant experience.
• Clearance Required: Top Secret Clearance and SCI eligibility
• CompTIA Security+ CE is required.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise IT systems in secure or mission-critical environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise integration, sustainment, and modernization efforts.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft enterprise services (Exchange, AD, DFS, MECM).
• Proven ability to develop technical documentation, implementation plans, and validation procedures.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-resolution skills.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or other classified government environments.
• Experience supporting large, distributed enterprise systems with regional or global scope.
• Strong background in service optimization across constrained or degraded environments.
• Experience serving in an advisory capacity to senior government or program leadership.
