Job summary

Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a niche network across Windows and Linux environments. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, 5+ years on mission networks, and strong automation skills including PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform and Packer.

You will work in a small expert team on cyber operations programs. We offer a bonus compensation plan and opportunities to engage in training and Capture the Flag events to grow your career

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a technical discipline.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Minimum 5+ years supporting mission networks.
• 7+ years of Windows environment administration and AD management.
• Experience with SolarWinds Orion for network monitoring.
• Significant automation experience with PowerShell, Ansible or Terraform/Packer.
• WSUS knowledge and experience in disconnected enclave environments.
• Strong VMware expertise with vSphere/VSAN/Horizon View.
• Understanding of cloud computing concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and provide solutions to technical problems.
• Maintain and upgrade Windows Server 2022+ and Windows 11 environments.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and IIS.
• Automate deployment with PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Packer.
• Design and implement domain policies, hardening and related procedures.
• Ensure performance, access controls, and installation of Windows tech.
• Perform Tier III analysis and troubleshooting of servers/workstations and LANs.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge base.
• Provide end-user support from Tier I escalation.
• Communicate issues and resolutions to stakeholders.
