Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Engineering, Systems Administration, or DevOps role supporting enterprise or engineering lab environments.
• Dual-OS Proficiency: Linux and Windows administration and troubleshooting.
• Virtualization & Containers: building and operating hypervisors (Proxmox, KVM, VMware, Hyper-V) and container workloads (Docker, LXC, Podman).
• Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python, or PowerShell for routine tasks.
• Directory Services & Networking Fundamentals: Active Directory/LDAP, DNS, VLANs, and virtual switch architectures.
• Problem-Solving & Disambiguation: root-cause analysis on complex infrastructure issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid Linux and Windows lab compute environments across bare metal, hypervisors, and containers.
• Manage enterprise hypervisors (Proxmox, VMware ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V) and lightweight micro-environments with Docker, Podman, and LXC.
• Develop scripts in Bash, Python, and PowerShell to automate configurations and deployments.
• Administer directory services (Active Directory, LDAP/LDAPS) and DNS/DHCP, ensuring secure, scalable identity and networking.
• Implement configuration baselines, backup/DR pipelines, and monitoring to guarantee research uptime.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate requirements into practical lab compute environments and resolve complex integration issues.
