Job summary

Saab, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to develop complex electronic surveillance systems for commercial and government customers. Based in East Syracuse, NY, you will lead top-level design, coordinate with product management, and drive safety-critical radar development.

You will apply 7+ years of experience in safety-critical industries, manage requirements, and contribute to documentation, testing, and cost proposals while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries.
• Experience with requirements management, system design, and system integration
• Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills
• Domestic and international travel may be required, typically less than 2 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigation and top-level design for new feature development and change requests from both internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead development of primary and secondary radar products which provide safety-critical surveillance throughout the world
• Develop and maintain specifications and technical documentation to support customer deliverables and internal systems engineering processes.
• Balance competing interests from multiple stakeholder groups
• Coordinate with product development management to ensure technical, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved while maintaining acceptable levels of risk.
• Develop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance product performance
• Support technical and cost proposal preparation for future programs.
