Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and manage complex Windows and VMware environments in the US BICES-X program.

The role includes leading a small team and liaising with clients to meet mission requirements. The position requires a TS clearance with SCI eligibility, strong experience with STIGs, and a background in Windows Server domains.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of related systems engineering experience.
• Must possess a TS clearance & eligible for SCI.
• Must have VMware experience.
• Experience applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Experience with vendor relationship management and cost estimation.
• Previous experience administering Windows Server domains.
• People manager skills.
• DoW 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant.

Responsibilities

• Designs, installs, configures, and maintains operating systems, hardware, and networks.
• Collaborates with cyber security and network teams to ensure system integration.
• Deploys, configures, and administers virtual machines within the vCenter infrastructure.
• Reviews vulnerability scans and remediates systems.
• Builds and maintains transient Active Directory domain environments for validation testing.
• Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
• Maintains baseline system images and VMware VM templates.
• Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
• Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues in hardware and software
• Implements warranty and support activities.
• Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Manage a small team of systems and network engineers (under 10).
• Participates in special projects as required.
