Job summary

National Security Agency (NSA) is seeking a mid to expert Systems Engineer at the Fort Meade, MD complex. You will design, integrate, and optimize complex systems, leading cross-functional teams and guiding technical direction to meet mission needs.

Expect responsibilities across system architecture, lifecycle management, risk mitigation, and mentoring. Advanced knowledge in cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and enterprise networks is valued; a DCIPS/DoD-aligned environment is noted.

Qualifications

• Degree must be in Engineering or a relevant technical field; ABET coursework required if not ABET accredited.
• Relevant experience must be in engineering systems over their lifecycle (concept through decommissioning).
• Full Performance: Engineering degree with 3 years (Bachelor) / 1 year (Master); or other technical degree with 3+ years (Bachelor) or 1+ year (Master).

Responsibilities

• System Design and Integration: lead architectures and ensure seamless integration across platforms.
• Project Leadership: manage cross-functional teams through full lifecycle, timelines, budgets, and quality metrics.
• Technical Oversight: provide guidance on engineering best practices to improve reliability and performance.
• Risk Management: identify and mitigate technical risks through analysis and proactive planning.
• Mentoring and Collaboration: foster a collaborative environment and mentor junior engineers.
