Job summary

Sumaria Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support MQ-9 weapon system engineering at Wright-Patterson AFB. The role provides technical leadership across development, production, and sustainment, coordinating with Government personnel and contractors.

The position emphasizes integrating new capabilities into the MQ-9 platform, including payload systems, with rigorous documentation and DoD program engagement. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12+ years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of DoD experience.
• Experience with weapons systems engineering and systems integration.
• Strong knowledge of engineering processes, testing, and configuration management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with government customers, contractors, and technical teams.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering leadership in planning, executing, and managing systems engineering activities.
• Provide technical expertise for aircraft research, development, acquisition, and sustainment.
• Analyze engineering issues and recommend technical solutions.
• Develop and review technical documentation, analyses, reports, change proposals, and requirements.
• Support systems integration, hardware/software development, testing, configuration management, and QA.
• Provide engineering support for FMS activities and resolve technical issues with stakeholders.
• Assist with integration of subsystems and mission capabilities into MQ-9 platforms.
• Support integration of EO/IR, SIGINT, EW, payload systems.
• Coordinate with Air Force TENCAP and other DoD organizations.
• Assist with Airworthiness Certification documentation and analyses.
• Develop technical documentation including SOWs and interface docs.
• Participate in design reviews, TIMs, TRRs, and program management reviews.
• Support resolution of operational deficiencies and brief Government leadership.
