Job summary

iRhythm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer I within the Research & Systems Engineering team to help develop and enhance mobile applications supporting the Zio service.

You will collaborate with Firmware, Software, and cross‑functional partners to enable SaMD and non‑medical device apps for US and international markets. Responsibilities include defining requirements, managing data flows from device to cloud, maintaining architecture docs, and contributing to V&V, risk

Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems engineering in a regulated industry (medical device preferred).
• Experience defining requirements and data flows for mobile apps (iOS/Android) connected to IoT hardware.
• Experience with standards compliance and risk management.
• Proficiency translating concepts for software and firmware teams.
• Knowledge of INCOSE/EARS and modeling techniques (SysML/UML).

Responsibilities

• Define and document system and subsystem requirements with stakeholders.
• Oversee end-to-end data flow from device to cloud via BLE/Cellular/Wi‑Fi.
• Update system architecture documents to reflect current designs.
• Manage trace matrices linking design inputs to outputs.
• Review design deliverables, V&V strategies, tests, and regulatory submissions.
• Participate in risk management throughout development and field investigations.
• Assist with design transfer and software deployment activities.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
