Requirements
Must have:
- We need a bachelors degree in engineering or a related field such as cybersecurity, computer science, electrical, mechanical, systems, software, or physics, along with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- We will also consider a graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, we require at least 10 years of related professional experience.
- We are looking for experience in the design, development, and deployment of Systems Security Engineering solutions.
- We need experience translating NIST 800-53 security controls into actionable requirements that product teams can implement.
- We require experience drafting Systems Security Engineering requirements and communicating them effectively across teams.
- We need experience with the Risk Management Framework, including NIST and DoD standards.
- We require experience preparing security documentation for various certifications.
- We require an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Preferred skills include proposal development, networking knowledge, Linux administration, Bash scripting, Python, Windows PowerShell, Windows administration, Nessus, Wireshark, Nmap, and Elastic Stack.
- Preferred experience also includes Linux audit and logging architecture, Active Directory and LDAP, NIST publications, application hardening with code-scanning tools such as Coverity or Fortify, eMass or Xacta, and DoD deployment logistics, acquisition processes, exercise planning, data links, or edge computing.
Responsibilities:
- We participate in risk and vulnerability assessments of information systems to identify weaknesses, threats, and protection requirements.
- We coordinate the development of Security Impact Assessments for proposed system changes.
- We combine software and hardware engineering knowledge to support secure system delivery.
- We prepare and present technical findings in internal and external program meetings.
- We develop, monitor, and report technical metrics.
- We manage requirements in DOORS or JIRA throughout the project lifecycle.
- We communicate across and outside the organization to help leadership adopt new practices and approaches.
- We track A&A status for assigned systems and oversee accreditation and re-accreditation actions.
- We improve existing processes or establish new ones where needed.
- We work cross-functionally to ensure security requirements are addressed throughout the mission system development lifecycle.
- We perform security compliance scans, vulnerability analysis, and drive remediation of identified issues.
- We conduct periodic network vulnerability scans and recommend remediation options while ensuring compliance with corporate security policies and best practices.
- We develop and maintain ATO Body of Evidence artifacts.
- We work fully on-site, as this role cannot be performed remotely.
