Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Systems Engineer II to join our Space Systems team. You will develop budgets, system requirements and verification approaches, perform simulations, and lead the technical development of spacecraft missions, including hands-on work with flight hardware.

We offer a competitive base pay range of $132,000 to $198,000 USD per year, plus stock participation and a broad benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and employee stock

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical engineering discipline)
• 8+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
• Master’s or PhD in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical engineering discipline)
• Understanding of key spacecraft subsystems and their components, including ADCS, EPS, space-ground communications, C&DH, and thermal control
• Thorough understanding of space environment, orbital mechanics, and rigid body dynamics
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, and STK
• Experience with requirement management tools such as JAMA or DOORS
• Experience with satellite operations
• Experience with testing electrical subsystems and assemblies, thermal vacuum or random vibration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
