Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to analyze 12V performance data and own power consumption targets across complex components and ECUs. You will drive reductions by collaborating with functional engineers, ensuring traceability from system requirements to hardware subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field of study.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer or related occupation.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field of study with two (2) years of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer or related occupation.
• Two (2) years of experience with embedded controls requirements development, architecture development and systems engineering.
• Six (6) months of experience with vehicle electrical architectures, communication protocols and ECU wakeup strategies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze 12V performance data from the field and from test properties.
• Own the total power consumption performance of complex components and ECUs to drive reduction and optimization.
• Work with systems functional engineers to ensure traceability of system requirements and targets to hardware subsystems.
• Analyze and summarize status to energy consumption targets based on use cases.
• Drive action to appropriate organizations to address gaps and escalate issues.
• Lead trade-off decisions, buy-offs, and change management for power consumption solutions using Jira and Epics.
