Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (YDB Team) based in Spain. You will work on highly scalable infrastructure powering AI and cloud workloads, contributing to an open-source distributed database and storage platform with C++ engineering.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional C/C++ systems programming experience.
• Strong understanding of low-level systems concepts (CPU caches, NUMA).
• Experience with high-performance, low-latency components.
• Ability to diagnose production issues using core dumps, flame graphs, and sanitised builds.
• Knowledge of storage algorithms and NVMe/HDD internals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize YDB components to leverage modern hardware (NVMe, high-bandwidth NICs, DPUs).
• Improve performance across storage technologies (HDD, TLC NVMe).
• Reengineer system components with efficient algorithms for scalability and reliability.
• Design and implement high-performance, low-latency components for production systems.
• Analyze system behavior and identify bottlenecks using profiling and diagnostics.
• Contribute to distributed storage and database infrastructure for AI/cloud workloads.
• Participate in incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with infra, storage, networking, and AI teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Contribute to open-source codebase and participate in design discussions.
