Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Alexandria, VA to lead mission-critical, hardware-driven engineering programs for national security customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in waterfall project management or hardware production environments and will coordinate across hardware, integration, and manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery per specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering activities including requirements development, integration support, hardware/system verification, and validation.
• Background in structured project or program management with schedule control, technical coordination, financial tracking, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate technical information to stakeholders.
• Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-lifecycle project execution with detailed plans, schedules, milestones, risk management, and earned value tracking.
• Translate mission and customer requirements into system requirements across hardware, integration, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
• Coordinate hardware engineering, test, and integration teams to deliver per plans and specifications.
• Oversee integration, verification, and validation activities through design, build, test, deployment, and sustainment.
• Provide clear communication, documentation, and reporting to technical teams, leadership, and customers.
