Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to act as the technical authority for a strategic rotary-wing simulator trainer program. The role leads design through delivery, guiding cross-functional teams across software, hardware, and testing disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Simulation, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in hardware or software development related to modeling and simulation.
• 3–5+ years in an engineering leadership role.
• Strong systems engineering background with experience in systems design and documentation.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience with distributed simulation architectures and training systems.
• Familiarity with acquisition processes, standards, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution design and architecture for the program.
• Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary engineering team, including software, hardware, systems, and test efforts.
• Drive technical decisions and execution, ensuring integration across all teams.
• Ensure adherence to cost estimates and delivery within the required schedule.
• Verify compliance with specifications and manage requirements traceability.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
• Estimate work packages and support proposal development.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent within the team.
• Support delivery, installation, and onsite testing, which includes international travel.
