Job summary

Lyte is hiring a highly technical Systems Engineer in Sunnyvale to own module‑level integration and productization of sensing modules for our Physical AI platform. You’ll oversee cross‑functional work across optics, electronics, mechanics and embedded software, driving from specification through production ramp and field deployment.

You will define module requirements, ensure flow-down to subsystem teams, and build test and traceability infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on systems, hardware or integration engineering on a physical product.
• Experience taking a hardware product through prototype, engineering builds and production ramp.
• Strong lab skills and instrumentation to diagnose cross-boundary issues.
• Familiarity with failure analysis, root-cause methods, and data-driven decisions.
• Knowledge of BOM/change control, travelers and work instructions, IQC/OQC, serialization and traceability.
• Python for test automation and data analysis.
• Ability to work across optics, electronics, mechanics and software.
• Clear technical writing and cross-team collaboration.
• Willing to travel to manufacturing and vendor sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own module-level integration and make subsystems work as a product.
• Translate product requirements into module specifications for downstream teams.
• Drive system bringup for new hardware including silicon, PCBAs, optics, and thermal designs.
• Plan and execute engineering builds in-house and with contract manufacturers.
• Define and measure test coverage, KPIs, and pass/fail criteria across components and modules.
• Contribute to early concept work and in-house prototyping for next-generation products.
• Participate in failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with optics, electrical, mechanical, silicon, firmware and software teams.
• Support customer engineering by understanding deployment requirements and feedbacking to design.
