Job description

Our mission at DigitalFish is to help our customers derive transformative value across their organizations by building next-generation technologies that define the future of digital-media creation and consumption for millions of users.

We have partnered with leading digital media companies, and are at the center of their efforts to build a new generation of platforms and experiences. Current and past customers include Apple, Google, Meta, Disney, DreamWorks, Activision, Technicolor, ESPN, LEGO, NASA, and many others.

THE ROLE

As part of a small and dynamic team, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing imaging technology for camera capture while developing end-to-end high fidelity, high accuracy, and photorealistic camera simulators. The scope of these projects includes collaborating with camera architects and teams such as systems, optics, algorithm development, and IQ, to execute, validate, and improve camera simulation for architecture validation and component down selection.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop, validate, and execute state-of-the-art imaging software simulation tools to enable camera hardware exploration, machine learning dataset generation, and product architecture tasks for consumer products.
  • Investigate the latest imaging simulation methods (e.g., ISET, ZEMAX, non-sequential ray tracing) to enable realistic simulation of camera behavior for architecture, algorithms, and image quality development.
  • Conduct experiments and data collection to validate simulator accuracy and improve modeling capabilities and efficiency.
  • Build and operate lab setups for image data acquisition of camera prototypes to support design studies, including calibration and routine maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Develop and document camera test methodologies for 2D/3D system performance analysis.
  • Create and debug test scripts for automating image data collection.
  • Analyze and organize measurement data; present initial findings.
  • Manage supplier interactions to deliver camera prototypes supporting concept demonstrations.
WHO YOU ARE
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Imaging Science, Image Processing, Computer Vision, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of image formation processes (spectrum, optics/aberrations, PSF, sensor noise, Fourier theory, sampling/aliasing) for modeling complex imaging phenomena.
  • Experience in developing and tuning Image Signal Processing (ISP) pipelines.
  • Experience with image quality testing and familiarity with image quality metrics and analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++, preferably CUDA, targeting platforms like GPU and Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with lab setups for camera system performance studies.
  • Experience in camera calibration and imaging system modeling.
  • Familiarity with image sensors, optics, and image processing algorithms.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from start to finish.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Annual compensation includes equity based on qualifications.
  • Salary range: $180,000 to $210,000 plus equity.
  • Base pay considers internal parity, skills, and experience.
  • Health benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
  • Discounts on entertainment and shopping partners.
  • Flexible working environment and more.
