We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer – Command and Control (C2) supporting one of our premier programs in the business unit, where your knowledge with regards to clarification of requirements, system engineering analyses, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification will be put to good use. This work will be on-site at our Aurora, CO campus.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with implementing a modern approach to systems engineering - balancing the need for structured requirements with innovation and streamlined processes
  • Organize and improve templates, documentation, and workflows to enhance efficiency
  • Champion Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) by leveraging modern tools like CAMEO to enhance system design and analysis.
  • Maintain and update CAMEO models, ensuring accurate system representation and requirements documentation
  • Drive the early stages of development, transforming concepts into structured requirements and system models.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
  • Development experience on a government contract

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience in Satellite Command/Control
  • Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, etc.)
  • Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases
  • Experience with MBSE, CAMEO or Agile/Scrum (a plus).
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
