Job summary

Stratom is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in autonomous robotics and complex electromechanical systems to lead development across design, integration, and verification of robotic platforms based in Louisville, CO. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, system ownership, and collaboration with mechanical, electrical, software, autonomy, and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate has MBSE experience, a strong systems mindset, and a track record of delivering complex projects

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
5+ years experience developing complex electromechanical, autonomous, or defense systems.
Experience leading systems engineering across the full product lifecycle.
Ability to mentor engineers and drive best practices.

Responsibilities

Lead hands-on systems engineering activities including architecture, MBSE modeling, requirements, interfaces, integration, and validation.
Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software, autonomy, manufacturing).
Drive system development with ownership of technical decisions and integration.
Coordinate trade studies, risk identification, and technical decisions to balance performance and cost.
Support safety analyses, FMEAs, and safety case development for autonomous systems.
Mentor engineers and propagate systems engineering practices.
Communicate status and risks to customers, partners, and leadership.
