Job summary

Ingenium Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the aerospace/defense sector in Ft. Wayne, IN. You will join a cross-functional team responsible for fuze systems, with hybrid/remote options and occasional domestic travel.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance and a Bachelor’s degree. You will design, test, and decompose fuze system requirements, including Safe and Arm mechanisms, high-reliability electronics, and proximity sensing concepts.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Clearance is required at time of hiring.
• 5–10 years experience with environmental testing of fuze systems.
• 5–10 years experience Environmental Sensing Design, Safe and Arm Mechanism Design and Firing Chain Design.
• Fuze System-Level Requirements Decomposition.
• Self-Destruct / Self-Neutralize Design.
• Built-in test (BIT) design for fuze systems.

Responsibilities

• Design systems compliant to MIL-STD-1316 or MIL-STD-1911.
• Design environmental sensing systems that monitor release, setback, spin, and all-up-round scenarios.
• Develop environmental qualification tests per MIL-STD-331 and MIL-STD-810; perform root cause analysis.
• Design Safe and Arm mechanisms (electrical or electromechanical).
• Create high-reliability electronics for safety-critical applications.
• Design firing chain components including capacitor discharge units and EFI qualification.
• Develop fuze system-level decomposition tracing requirements to ESD, S&A, firing circuit, and software.
• Design active proximity fuze systems (RF, laser, acoustic) and passive influence fuzeing.

We are currently searching for a Senior Systems Engineer for our client in the aerospace/defense/aviation industry. This position is part of a cross functional team responsible for fuze systems.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Experience designing systems compliant to MIL-STD-1316 or MIL-STD-1911
• Environmental Sensing design: Designed sensing systems that sense environment conditions such as release, setback, spin, and all-up-round environments
• Environmental testing of fuze systems: Designed qualification tests for fuzing systems iaw JOTP, MIL-STD-331, and MIL-STD-810; performed environmental qualification; performed failure and root cause analysis on failures
• Safe and Arm mechanism design: Designed electrical or electromechanical devices
• High reliability electronics: Experience designing high reliability electronics systems for safety critical or mission critical systems
• Firing chain design: Designed capacitor discharge units; selected/qualified EFI.
• Self-destruct / self-neutralize design: Designed self-destruct/neutralization mechanisms
• Fuze system-level requirements decomposition: Traces system requirements to ESD, S&A, firing circuit, and software;
• Proximity fuze / active sensing: Designed active proximity fuze systems (RF, laser, acoustic) in addition to passive influence fuzing
