Job summary

Kela Technologies is seeking a Senior System Engineer - Aerial Systems to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our advanced aerial platforms. You will drive architecture, prototype, and integrate hardware and software across R&D, manufacturing, QA, and field operations.

In this hands-on role, you will oversee transitions from prototype to production, ensure compliance with safety standards, and mentor teammates on system updates and procedures.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in system engineering or related roles.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary aerial systems development.
• Knowledge of aerial safety standards, compliance and defense regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

As a Senior System Engineer - Aerial Systems, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the various aerial systems developed in Kela. This is a highly hands-on and technical role. You will work closely with the development teams in the office, lab and the field.

• Drive the system architecture and detailed specifications for our aerial systems through rapid iterations and hands-on prototyping.
• Support and oversee the transition of the products from prototype and certification phases into mass production.
• Deploy, configure, and integrate complex hardware and software components to ensure optimal system performance in tactical environments.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, QA, field operations) throughout the entire system lifecycle
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation and provide training for team members on system updates, safety procedures, and compliance.

• 5 years of experience in system engineering or related roles.
• Proven experience in multi-disciplinary aerial systems development including the flying platform itself.
• Knowledge and proven experience with aerial systems safety standards, compliance, and defense regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience scaling a product from prototype to mass production- a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with FPV drone development and operations - a strong advantage.
