Job summary

Applied Signal Technology (AST), part of RTX, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support system development across multiple programs from Salt Lake City. You will work with experienced R&D teams to design, develop and deploy systems that protect national interests.

You will generate briefings for team members, customers and AST Management, collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and help push products beyond current capabilities while ensuring compliance and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, including design, development and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
• Experience interacting with development teams to resolve discrepancies and issues.
• Experience identifying, analyzing and resolving problems in all phases of the system lifecycle.
• Experience with Systems Integration, test execution and test results documentation.
• Experience problem solving and debugging.
• Experience working with customers, end users, hardware and software teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.

Job description

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite, U.S. Citizen / U.S. Person). Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Requires an existing security clearance from Day 1.

Senior Systems Engineer with experience in system development supporting multiple programs.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• 5 years of practical experience in Systems Engineering, including design, development and testing of custom hardware and software systems of high complexity.
• Experience interacting with development teams to resolve discrepancies and issues.
• Experience identifying, analyzing and resolving problems in all phases of the system lifecycle.
• Experience with Systems Integration, test execution, and test results documentation.
• Experience problem solving and debugging.
• Experience recognizing areas of improvement or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilities.
• Experience working with customers, end users, hardware design teams, and software design teams.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph is required after start.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with RF standards and processing techniques.
• Experience with motion control systems.
• Experience formalizing, developing and writing requirements, plans, and procedures based on customer discussions, briefings, interactions, and statements of work.
• Experience developing system level designs and data interfaces.
• Experience with bid and proposal activities related to system development.
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or Bash.
• Experience developing training courses and training others.
• Existing TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
