Job Description
SeniorSystems Engineerisresponsible forstanding up andmaintainingAWS infrastructure supporting allaspects ofPLM software implementationsto meet customerrequiredsecurity,functionality,and performance requirementsonallProduction and non-Productionenvironments. Theyare responsible forinstallingapplicationsoftware including updatesand patches,performingupgrades,andapplying applicationsecurity updates.This resource isalsoresponsible forperformance tuningand scaling implementations into containerized solutions, automating workloads with ansible playbooks, anddriving efficiency in the teamthrough the use ofemergingcloud-basedtechnology and automation tools.This role involves supportingPLMapplication development projectsforDoDcustomers.The ideal candidate has5to8years of experienceinAWSinfrastructureset-upand maintenanceon bothRedHat Linux& Windowsenvironments. The ideal candidate must alsohold relevant AWS certificationsandCompTIASecurity +. They musthave the ability to work independentlyandhavedemonstratedability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.This candidate must have a propensity andexcitement for learning new applications in the PLM space.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business & securityrequirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Plan, Implement, and Refinecloud-basedinfrastructure (AWS)with a mindfor performance/scalability/cost savings,including evaluation of things likeswitchingfrom monolithic to cluster, establishment of a load balancer,andbackup/recovery plans.
- Utilize Ansible playbooks for automation, and secure applications with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), managing TLS/SSL certificates, and enforcing secure authentication mechanisms.
- Responsible for administering RDS Oracle and RDS PostgreSQL databases, including initial data seeding, schema configurations, running scripts, query execution for troubleshooting, andoptimizingdatabase performance for application-specific needs
- Install andperformupgrades ofPLM application software,applying critical patch sets, and fixing security vulnerabilities on a regular basis with all infrastructure and applicationsincluded in the technical stack.
- Oversee therehosts/data refreshes on non-production environments as needed.
- Conduct comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and system testing ensuringapplicationinfrastructure and performanceismaintained.
- Oversee thedebuggingandresolution ofcomplex application/customizationdefects and issuesthat may require performance and infrastructure related investigations and solutions.
- Develop andmaintaintechnical documentationforall environment infrastructure.
- Establish andmaintaincertifications in relevant PLM, Cloud, and Security platforms/technology.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holdSecurity +certification.
- Currently hold relevant AWS certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree ininformationtechnology,computer science,software engineering,or otherengineering discipline.
- Minimum5years of experience working withand setting upAWS cloud servicesto hostenterprise applications.
- Experience managing Ansible playbooks.
- Experience withAWS licensure.
- Experience with AWS servicesincluding EC2 (compute configurations), S3 (storage management), RDS (database administration), Fleet Manager (remote access and automation), Secrets Manager (credential security), and CloudWatch (logging, monitoring, and alerting)
- Experiencemaintainingandoptimizingperformance ofenterprise applications hosted in the cloud.
- Experience diagnosing networking related issues.
- Experience managing Active Directory andAppStream.
- Experience collaborating with AWS Technical Support.
- Experience setting up and working with Virtualized Environments.
- Experience with installation and maintenance of database systems (e.g.Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and SQL scripting.
- Proficiencyin Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 8+and Windows Serveradministrationusing CLI for OS-Level configurationsincluding file system manipulationandstorage configurations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Propensity andexcitement for learning new applications in the PLM space.
- Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing or updatingcode using languages like JAVA, Python, C++, C#, etc.
- Experience withand certifications inAgilesoftwaredevelopment methodologies.
- In-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.
- Knowledge of DoD software development policies, cybersecurity requirements, and RMF compliance framework.
- Experience with administration of at least 1 mainstream PLM application (PTC Windchill, Arena,FlexPLM,Siemens Teamcenter, Oracle PLM,Agile PLM, etc.)
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able tolift upto 15 pounds at times.
- This position is hybrid located in St. Paul, MN.
- Fully remote candidates may be considered with increased expectation for travel.
- This position may require the ability to travel up to 10%.
Work Environment
Hybrid work arrangements are strongly preferred for this role to support regular in-person collaboration with program and project teams. Fully remote candidates may still be considered; however, remote employees should expect increased travel requirements to support onsite team engagement. Employees may telework on designated days or as needed with supervisor approval, provided they maintain established communication expectations and effectively meet job responsibilities. Travel may be required 1–2 times per month to customer sites, subcontractor locations, and other company offices.
Clearance Requirements
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL).In order toqualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
