Job description

Join us in pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably.

Our inspiring and caring environment forms a global community that celebrates diversity and individuality. We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.

Join our Linear Accelerator Systems group as a Systems Engineer responsible for the radiation-producing subsystem of our Radiation Oncology products. This role leads system requirements, integration, verification, and technical problem solving across a multidisciplinary engineering organization. The ideal candidate combines broad engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting complex systems. We are looking for a versatile and well-rounded Systems Engineer to join our Linear Accelerator Systems group, which is responsible for the radiation-producing subsystem on our Radiation Oncology machines.

The candidate will become part of an interdisciplinary team that includes microwave, electrical, mechanical, materials and servo algorithm engineers. This role is responsible for defining, managing, and verifying system requirements, solving technical system integration challenges, coordinating cross-functional technical activities, and ensuring successful integration of hardware, software, service and manufacturing considerations throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will serve as the technical focal point for assigned subsystems, working closely with product management, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and field service organizations. This position requires strong systems thinking, excellent communication and project management skills and the ability to drive technically complex issues to resolution in a multidisciplinary environment.

The ideal candidate combines breadth and depth in physics, electrical, mechanical and control systems engineering with hands-on experience in system-level design and troubleshooting. The ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional team is essential, as is the ability to efficiently manage project timelines and supplier collaborations in a fast-paced environment. Experience executing these deliverables in a regulated environment and familiarity with Product Life Cycle Management is a big plus.

  • Develop and execute system-level test plans, analyze results, and ensure traceability between requirements, design, and verification activities.
  • Support product risk management activities, including root cause analysis, failure investigations, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs involving performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Drive technical projects and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines, suppliers, product management, manufacturing, quality, and field organizations.
  • Communicate technical recommendations, decisions, and results effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Systems Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in system design, integration, verification, and troubleshooting of complex multidisciplinary products.
