The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Kennedy Space Center team in Florida. This role will drive integration across multiple engineering disciplines to verify system-of-systems performance, bridging design intent, hardware validation, and flight readiness.

Key responsibilities include defining system-level test requirements, coordinating cross-functional interfaces, conducting advanced analyses, and guiding verification closure while maintaining safety and quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret / SCI clearance (investigation active or within 24 months; U.S. citizenship required).
  • 7+ years in an engineering role.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
  • Strong skills in engineering analysis, requirements tracing, and technical communication.

Responsibilities

  • Define, decompose, and coordinate system-level test and verification requirements derived from customer, mission, and operational needs.
  • Integrate cross-functional parameters across electrical, mechanical, fluids, thermal, and software interfaces to verify end-to-end compatibility and functional integrity.
  • Lead analyses including safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, and requirement certification to optimize configurations for mission success.
  • Govern requirements management and verification tracking using formal tools, risk/opportunity frameworks, and readiness assessments to ensure complete verification closure.
  • Represent the system test organization directly in the factory, test cell, and post-production environments throughout hardware builds, integrated functional testing, and refurbishment cycles.
  • Lead dynamic system test operations, translating flight and ground environments into actionable test procedures, instrumentation strategies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Author technical dispositions and engineering deviations for hardware non-conformances, operational limit exceedances, or test anomalies to maintain cadence with safety and quality.
  • Lead rapid RCA, failure investigation, and multi-system troubleshooting to diagnose complex operational anomalies and flight hardware defects.
  • Identify, develop, and deploy continuous upgrades to test infrastructure and processes to improve cadence, reliability, and mission throughput.

Senior Systems Engineer

Company: The Boeing Company. The Boeing Defense (BDS), Security, Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) is seeking multiple Senior Systems Engineers to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) at Kennedy Space Center, FL. At Boeing, our Systems Engineers drive the innovation, development, evaluation, and end-to-end execution of validation methods and test systems across manufacturing, refurbishment, integrated vehicle testing, and operational checkout. In this role, you will operate across multiple engineering disciplines to verify system-of-systems performance, serving as the technical bridge between design intent, physical hardware validation, and flight readiness.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Define, decompose, and coordinate system-level test and verification requirements derived from customer, mission, and operational needs.
  • Integrate cross-functional parameters across electrical, mechanical, fluids, thermal, and software interfaces to verify end-to-end compatibility and functional integrity.
  • Lead specialized analyses including safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, and requirement certification to optimize configurations for mission success.
  • Govern requirements management and verification tracking using formal tools, risk/opportunity frameworks, and readiness assessments to ensure complete verification closure.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret / SCI security clearance (investigation active or open within the past 24 months; U.S. citizenship required).
  • 7+ years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
  • Strong skills in engineering analysis, requirements tracing, and technical communication.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Expertise in system-level tests and verification of space vehicles or space systems.
  • Refined cross-functional leadership skills and experience working with multi-disciplined teams.
  • Expert in aerospace avionics, electrical systems, and RF equipment.
  • Subject matter expert for approved repair and testing techniques for electronics and components.
  • Experience with hardware and software requirements verification using tools like DOORS.
  • Scripting experience for test automation or data processing (e.g., Python, Tcl/Tk, Perl).
  • Experience with configuration management and tracking tools (e.g., Git, SVN, PLM, Jira, MS Project).
