Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a skilled IT professional for the US BICES-X program supporting DoD information sharing. You will design and maintain compute environments, document system specifications, and provide technical guidance across a cross-functional team to ensure secure, compliant operations.

The role requires a SECRET clearance, 5+ years of Microsoft tech experience, and IAT II with DoW 8570.1. Onsite position with potential travel and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in building, maintaining and supporting Microsoft technologies and related platforms.

• IAT level II compliant with DoW 8570.1.
• Microsoft Certified System Administrator and ITIL Foundation within six months.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and modify physical and virtual compute environments throughout systems life cycle.
• Participate in system conceptual design and documentation.
• Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Provide system training and technical guidance as needed.
• Provide briefings, COA development, and assist in project planning and implementation.
• Develop SOPs and system documentation.
• Collaborate with managers, network engineers, and customer on solutions.
• Review security configuration and ensure STIG compliance.
• Provide Tier III support and mentor junior staff.
• Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, evaluate, and modify physical and virtual compute environments throughout systems life cycle

• Provide briefings, transitioning concepts to execution, course of action (COA) development, and assisting in project technical planning and implementation
• Develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) and system documentation
• Collaborate with managers, network engineers, team members, and customer on solutions and issues
• Review, analyze, and verify current security configuration and effectiveness in response to DoD requirements and emerging threats
• Achieve and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance
• Provide tier III support in identifying, analyzing and resolving problems
• Mentor and coach less experienced system administrators and engineers
• Participate in special projects as assigned
• Continuous improvement mindset to ensure quality of delivered services
• May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of five (5) years' experience in building, maintaining and supporting Microsoft technologies and related platforms: Active Directory configuration and management, Windows Server 2022/2025, Configuration Manager (MECM), WSUS, Exchange, PowerShell, SharePoint, ADFS, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
• BA/BS Degree - may substitute additional years of experience
• Active SECRET Security clearance
• IAT level II compliant with DoW 8570.1
• Microsoft Certified System Administrator
• ITIL Foundation within six months of hire
• A demonstrated strong working knowledge of Microsoft and Virtual infrastructure technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• TS/SCI Preferred
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM) and WSUS environments
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining Windows endpoint and server operating system images
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining SolarWinds environments
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining F5 BIG-IP solutions
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining XMPP Chat solutions
• Experience delivering solutions in accordance with agile and waterfall methodologies

The likely salary range for this position is $107,744 - $140,300. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
