Overview

Senior Systems Engineer

Astrion offers comprehensive services that boost preparedness, optimize performance, and ensure success across various domains, from Cyber to Digital, Mission and Systems, servicing our nation's Civilian, Defense, and Space communities. We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL, and Burlington, MA, with an additional 36 locations across the U.S.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer supporting the C3C/Kessel Run (KR) Division within the USAF C3BM Directorate, specifically supporting the Modeling and Simulation group.

Work Location: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA, OR Hurlburt Field, FL, OR Orlando, FL, OR San Antonio, TX

Responsibilities

The ACE-IOS Engineer is a key member of the Kessel Run Modeling and Simulation Portfolio, leading modernization and maintenance efforts.

  • Collaborate with portfolio leadership and Program Manager on technical decision-making.
  • Assess and analyze requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight.
  • Work with the team to solve issues/problems.
  • Coordinate between Contractor and users.
  • Support the Program Manager in executing the technical strategy.
  • Guide developers and maintainers in sustaining and modernizing the suite.
  • Promote communication and problem-solving.
  • Remove technical blockers and resolve challenges.
  • Architect and develop solutions for complex problems.
  • Define engineering standards and best practices.
  • Encourage adoption of modern technical approaches and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Must be a US citizen with an active security clearance.
  • Strong understanding of modeling and simulation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AOC Weapon System and Intel functions and system.
  • Experience with simulation tools and platforms.
  • Solid foundation in software development, Agile, and DevSecOps.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C++, Java) and databases (Postgres).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Education: Bachelor's Degree
