Job summary

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Goleta, CA. This position will serve as both an Environmental Test Engineer and Lab Lead; you will work within a cross-functional team to support testing activities and develop solutions that meet program commitments and compliance requirements. The role includes contributing to process optimization, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to established company standards. You will coordinate with engineering and test personnel to maintain efficient workflows and consistent execution of test operations. This is an On-site role located in Goleta, CA.

What You Will Do

Plan and conduct hardware tests, including vibration, mechanical shock, thermal, altitude, humidity, and structural testing, along with dynamic and thermal data analysis. Coordinate test fixture design and prepare technical documentation, such as test plans, schedules, reports, and archival technical records. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, structural analysis, manufacturing, and commercial customers, to meet technical, financial, and scheduling goals. Provide lab oversight, ensuring compliance with Lab Operating Procedures (LOP), Foreign Object Elimination (FOE), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) policies, and Access Management, as well as managing lab property, tools, and metrology. Safeguard proprietary materials and hardware in compliance with ITAR regulations, while supporting AS 9100/ISO 9001, DCMA, and Environment, Health, and Safety audits. Develop and implement corrective actions, long-range objectives, and communication plans, while consulting with functional and program management. Support audit preparation and oversee engineering lab evaluations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
