Job summary

VT Group (VTG) is seeking an experienced IT infrastructure engineer to provide Tier 2–4 support and lead Linux/Windows server engineering. You will configure VMware vCenter/NSX-T, manage AD/DNS/DHCP, and support Horizon VDI environments. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and a strong background in security-focused operations.

You will coordinate projects, maintain STIGs, and work with Splunk, ePO, and ServiceNow across on-prem and AWS environments in Chantilly, VA.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering Tier 2–4 technical support for tech products and apps.
• Leadership in Linux server/workstation engineering activities.
• Experience configuring VMware vCenter and NSX-T.
• Experience coordinating engineering projects with risk assessments.
• Hands-on with Active Directory, DNS, DFS, and DHCP.
• Experience maintaining DISA STIGs and security posture.
• Experience with Splunk, Check_MK, McAfee ePO, and BitLocker.
• Experience using ServiceNow for requirements.
• Experience with AWS and enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth Tier 2–4 support and problem resolution for tech products, infra, and apps.
• Lead engineering activities on Linux servers and workstations.
• Support Windows servers, workstations, storage, and virtualization infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain VMware vCenter and NSX-T environments.
• Perform Tier 3 engineering for virtualization, including VMs and VDI automation.
• Operate VMware Horizon VDI environments.
• Manage AD, DNS, DFS, and DHCP; maintain Windows Group Policy.
• Build Windows servers in AWS and align with security posture.
• Maintain DISA STIGs per requirements; support infra operations and maintenance.
• Work with Splunk, Check_MK, McAfee ePO, and BitLocker; use ServiceNow for requirements.
• Coordinate engineering projects, perform risk assessments, resolve conflicts.
• Gather performance metrics and notify when thresholds are met.
• Maintain data center assets, inventory, labeling, and decommissioning.
• Create system documentation for deployments and accreditation.

Overview

The Sponsor's office is responsible for building, operating, and maintaining a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure and associated services. The environment hosts dozens of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS), Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS), and custom applications, as well as a large-scale data lake. The infrastructure includes on-premises components deployed across multiple data centers in addition to commercial cloud resources. The Sponsor requires a highly skilled engineering team with diverse technical backgrounds and strong organizational capabilities to support system accreditation, infrastructure operations, and the documentation of system deployments across the environment.

What will you do?

• Provide in-depth Tier 2 through Tier 4 support and problem resolution for technology products, infrastructure, and applications.
• Lead and perform engineering activities involving Linux servers and workstations.
• Support engineering efforts involving Windows servers, workstations, storage systems, and virtualization infrastructure.
• Configure, administer, and maintain VMware vCenter and VMware NSX-T environments.
• Perform Tier 3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure, including virtual servers, virtual desktops, and automation solutions.
• Support VMware Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
• Operate and maintain Active Directory, Domain Naming System (DNS), Distributed File System (DFS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
• Provide oversight and maintenance of Windows Group Policy.
• Build and maintain Windows servers within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.
• Deploy and maintain system configuration standards in accordance with the Sponsor's security posture.
• Maintain Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) in accordance with security requirements.
• Support the operations and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Work with Splunk, Check_MK, McAfee ePO, and BitLocker.
• Manage technical and infrastructure requirements using ServiceNow.
• Coordinate engineering projects, including performing technical risk assessments, deconflicting implementations, and resolving technical questions or conflicts.
• Gather infrastructure performance and utilization metrics and proactively notify the Sponsor when established thresholds are met.
• Perform data center management activities, including physical capacity management, hardware installation and commissioning, inventory management, decommissioning, removal, and destruction.
• Install and manage infrastructure components, including cables and circuits, and ensure proper cable labeling.
• Build and maintain desktop workstations and provide troubleshooting and patching support as required.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure and property inventories, including accountable property and electronic network encryption devices.
• Create and maintain system documentation supporting infrastructure deployments and accreditation activities.
• Coordinate, schedule, and deconflict IT engineering projects across the environment.
• Support incident tracking, management, troubleshooting, and resolution across multiple support tiers.
