Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Systems Architect - Signal Integrity to lead mechanical design for next‑gen high‑speed cable backplane products and provide senior technical leadership. This remote role requires occasional travel to customer locations and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years as an Electrical Engineer, holds a relevant degree (Master’s/PhD preferred), and can obtain/maintain US Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer working on electro‑mechanical systems.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States with an active US Government Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• Experience with high-speed interconnect, thermal, mechanical alignment and structural integrity.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead system‑level mechanical design from concept to production for high‑speed cable backplanes.
• Serve as primary technical interface with OEM customers and drive engineering discussions.
• Develop mechanical specifications, prototypes, and performance requirements for thermal and high‑speed needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.
