Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Architect to join our Mission Systems Engineering team. You will support the Program Manager and Chief Engineer as System Architect on multiple major development programs.

The role is on-site in Baltimore, requires a U.S. Government Secret clearance (SAP eligibility), and focuses on defining and evolving system architecture, balancing cost, schedule, and risk while aligning with roadmaps and product lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of experience, a master’s with 12 years, or a PhD with 10 years in STEM fields (4 years may substitute).
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
• Experience creating, evolving and maintaining system architecture.
• Experience delivering technical presentations to leadership.
• Experience on hardware, software, and firmware projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and serve as the primary authority for system architecture within the Distributed Systems Engineering group.
• Direct, manage, and oversee the creation, evolution, and maintenance of the overall system architecture.
• Proactively manage architectural decisions to align with cost, schedule, and risk.
• Lead tailoring of system requirements margins based on risk and ensure compliance with KPPs.
• Align the chosen solution with internal roadmaps, product lines, and common components.
