Job summary

BD is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer in Tempe to lead the architecture and requirements for complex electro‑mechanical medical devices. You will drive integration, verification, and full design control compliance from concept through post‑market support.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across functions, and ensure solutions meet user needs, regulatory expectations, and performance goals in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Validated experience in R&D for complex electro‑mechanical systems or medical devices.
• Experience with requirement management tools such as Modern Requirements, PTC, Polarion, JAMA or DOORS.
• Ability to decompose system requirements across hardware, software, usability and mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems level design and development activities for new and existing products.
• Define and evolve system architectures aligned with user needs and regulatory requirements.
• Translate needs into clear system requirements and interface definitions.
• Ensure traceability from requirements through design, verification, and validation.
