Peraton is seeking an experienced Systems Architect to support a large-scale IT infrastructure program at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

This hybrid role serves as a senior technical authority across voice, video, network, firewall, telecommunications, and cellular domains, driving architectural standards and enterprise-grade solutions. Qualifications

Must be a US citizen.
Ability to obtain DOE security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/EE/Telecom or related field.
Experience in large-scale federal infrastructure programs.
Proven skill in creating architectural diagrams and docs.
Experience with subcontract administration.
Ability to develop cost estimates for IT infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, QoS, IPSec, MPLS.
Experience with VoIP and UC platforms (Cisco UC).
Familiarity with firewall/security platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet).
Knowledge of federal IT compliance frameworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to brief executives.

Responsibilities

Provide architectural oversight across multiple work streams within a DOE program.
Liaise with government leadership and subcontractors to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Develop and maintain enterprise architectural diagrams and design docs.
Lead cost estimates and independent technical evaluations for subcontractor work.
Manage dependencies and ensure consistency of standards across tasks.
Communicate program status and technical direction to stakeholders.
Support security, network, and telecom domains across the portfolio.
