Job description

BMA is seeking a Senior Systems Architect to support our Solutions Engineering IT Modernization Support Services (SEITMSS) program. This position is fully remote and contingent on contract award.

Job Summary

Key elements of this work consist of but are not limited to:

• Provides senior-level expertise to support data architecture and strategy development in compliance with all applicable standards
• Designs architecture, including software, hardware, and communications, to support the task order’s total requirements and to accommodate present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces
• Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting functional and technical requirements, including hardware and software updates or upgrades
• Develops high-level system design diagrams
• Ensures systems are compatible with and compliant with open systems architecture standards, including the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models, and profiles of standards such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model, as applicable to Information Management solutions across application program interfaces (API) and external environments
• Ensures the common operating environment (OE) is compliant
• Evaluates workflow, organizational, and planning challenges analytically and systematically and develops appropriate corrective actions

Clearance Requirements

An active Secret security clearance is required at the time of proposal submission.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field
• 10+ years of relevant systems architecture experience
• Knowledge of data analytics and processing platforms such as Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), Cloudera Data Science Workbench (CDSW), SAS Viya, Qlik Sense, Celonis, and Palantir
• Experience with data architecture alignment assessments, data requirements and solution design, enterprise data implementation strategies, and documenting technical data requirements
• Experience developing business cases and solution analyses, data architecture models and artifacts, architecture gap analyses and remediation plans, and architecture documentation
• Experience developing data risk impact assessments, training materials, integration strategies, exchange strategies, and API design and integration plans

Desired Skills & Certifications

• Experience supporting DLA contracts
• Familiarity with DLA’s Digital Strategy goals and objectives
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• 5+ years of project management experience with progressively increasing responsibility in the public and/or private IT sector or in a consulting environment
• At least 1 year of experience managing teams of five or more employees
• Master’s degree in IT or a related field, or an additional four years of relevant IT experience
• Familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), and Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting Systems (ICOFRS) requirements
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, Enterprise Central Component (ECC), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Transportation Management (TM), BW/4HANA, the SAP HANA database, Business Technology Platform, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
