Job summary

VyStar Credit Unions is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to analyze business requirements and provide system configuration support for enterprise-wide applications. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in application development.

You will act as a subject-matter expert, support end-user requests, and work with various teams to ensure application integrity. Strong communication skills and a commitment to self-directed professional development are essential.

Senior Systems Analyst – Responsibilities

• Analyzes business requirements and creates functional specifications for existing and new application systems.
• Performs system configuration for enterprise‑wide application systems.
• Acts as subject‑matter expert for at least two major Credit Union systems (core financial, Internet Mobile Banking, lending, mortgage origination, front‑end, Enterprise Content Management, CRM).
• Assists in cross‑training within the application and interface teams.
• Researches and designs tactical and strategic system solutions for process improvement.
• Provides third‑tier problem resolution and coordinates diagnosis and resolution for production‑environment issues.
• Coordinates with application vendors to resolve problems and trouble tickets.
• Maintains application performance and integrity throughout development, modification and support cycles.
• Works with vendors to obtain package application support.
• Collaborates with business operations analysts, QA teams, and technology teams on testing, change management, upgrades and releases.
• Supports end‑user requests and change‑management controls.
• Builds SQL scripts and maintains databases in coordination with the Database Administrator.
• Manages increased workload during technical outages (24/7 on‑call support).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent 6+ years of relevant experience).
• 5+ years of experience in application development and/or system configuration support.
• Experience designing/ analyzing business processes, creating flow models and diagrams.
• Experience with formal project‑management methodology, QA program, SDLC or Agile methodology.
• Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server (preferred); able to write basic SQL scripts.
• General knowledge of XML, Web Services, JavaScript, ASP.NET.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to quickly grasp concepts, analyze data and provide feedback to project teams.
• Experience establishing technology guidelines based on best practices in enterprise application architecture.
• Ability to lead technical and procedural standards (SDLC) for system design, development, verification, and implementation.

• Familiarity with application administration: system files, parameter settings, configuration tables, and database edits.

Working Conditions
