Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. The role involves supporting the design of systems, mission architecture, and hardware, and solving complex integration challenges within a secure, national-security program.

Ideal candidates have extensive Linux experience (Ubuntu/RHEL8) and are able to work shifts, including weekends. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and IAT Level 2 are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• 15+ years of System Administrator experience on programs/contracts of similar scope; 5 years may substitute for BS totaling 20 years.
• Demonstrated experience in Linux environments is required.
• Ability to accommodate shiftwork as needed, including weekend support.
• Must possess a working knowledge of system administration interdependencies as part of the SOA.
• Experience with Ubuntu and RHEL8.
• DOD 8570 compliance with minimum of IAT Level 2 is required.
• Must be able to analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.
• Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Our dynamic team delivers information security solutions that facilitate secure data flows and the detection/prevention of unauthorized behaviors, performs system security vulnerability assessments and solution development, and provides enterprise-level network, server, desktop, and application security services. Responsibilities may include supporting the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware, as well as analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience as a System Administrator on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. 5 years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a BS degree, totaling 20 years of SA experience.

• Must possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
