Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for our client in New York, NY. This on-site role focuses on owning IT operations across Windows and Linux, with deep cloud expertise and a hands-on approach to resolve issues from the data center to the desk.

You will manage hybrid AD, Azure, M365, and on-prem environments, while supporting end-users and driving infrastructure enhancements in a fast-paced financial services setting.

Qualifications

• Extensive Windows Server administration experience with Active Directory and core services.
• Deep expertise with Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong Linux administration skills and PowerShell scripting ability.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration of on-premise and cloud infrastructure across Windows and Linux.
• Troubleshoot complex systems issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Handle everyday end-user requests and desktop troubleshooting as needed.
• Provide executive-level technical support while managing tickets and escalations.
• Create, standardize, and maintain IT documentation, SOPs and runbooks.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve the team's technical capabilities.
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans; participate in on-call rotation.
