Job summary

The Swift Group, LLC in Herndon, VA is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a mission-focused program. You will manage Linux/Windows servers, Oracle databases, and a diverse IT stack on a dynamic enterprise environment.

Responsibilities include system monitoring, backups/archiving, patching, hardening, license management, and collaboration with ISSM. Requires TS/SCI with Poly clearance and extensive hands-on admin experience.

Qualifications

10+ years’ experience in configuration management.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or other related technical discipline.
Experience in all the following either individually or as part of a team: Linux servers, Windows servers, Oracle database servers, DNS servers, Domain controllers, network storage devices and HP servers.
Experience designing, configuring and installing information systems that include routers, servers, switches, storage systems, and laptops.
Experience designing and implementing Microsoft Windows based domains.
US citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

Monitor the system’s logs and applications daily, preferably leveraging automation.
Conduct system backups on an interval agreed upon with the Customer.
Conduct data archiving on an interval agreed upon with the Customer.
Perform system hardening of Linux systems according to information security engineering principles and industry best practices.
Maintain all servers, including Windows servers, Linux servers, Oracle database servers, Apache servers, DNS servers and Domain controllers.
Apply server patches and operating system updates in a timely fashion as defined by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
Assist the Customer with hardware and software acquisitions and implementation.
Ensure software licenses are renewed as appropriate.
Obtain Customer waivers as necessary.
Submit Discrepancy Reports (DR) and Requests for Change (RFC) through the appropriate Customer channels.
Work closely with the ISSM and other customer security elements as required.
