Job summary

Chenega MIOS in Albuquerque, NM seeks a System Administrator III to support applications and IT systems, including installation, backup, security, and documentation. The role covers both operation and development tasks in a dynamic government contracting environment.

You will work with Windows and Linux, VMware, and various data-center tools; you’ll create procedures, provide user support, and participate in risk assessments. Travel occasionally and be on-call to ensure 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, Certificate, or equivalent mix of education/experience.
• At least 3 years supporting an IT environment at server/data center level.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Install and support including backup/recovery, patching, and Tier II/III support.
• Serve as SME for Shared Services Enterprise Datacenter projects.
• Administer Windows and Linux servers in an enterprise environment.
• Follow OIT guidelines; document procedures and configurations.
• Track vulnerabilities and patch Linux systems per requirements.
• Manage file shares and ACL permissions; secure access control.
• Ensure security and admin controls for services/systems.
• Support IT on multiple computers/sites; provide user training and support.
• Contribute to risk assessments and system upgrade planning.
• Develop and maintain system administration documentation.
• Collaborate with staff to document and improve tasks.
