Placements24 in London (East) is seeking a proactive Senior Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure. You will ensure secure, high-performing servers, networks, and related systems, implementing configurations, troubleshooting, and support across the estate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems administration.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Experience with network administration, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configuration.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation is highly desirable.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade server operating systems and related software.
• Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implement and maintain system security measures, including user access controls, antivirus, and patch management.
• Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and availability through robust recovery plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, providing timely technical support.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including network diagrams and configuration details.
• Collaborate with other IT personnel on infrastructure projects and system enhancements.
