Job summary

The University of Arizona’s University Information Technology Services (UITS) is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (Systems Administrator III) to design, build, and maintain technology solutions that support research, with a focus on high-performance computing and research compute clusters. This position requires Linux in production, provisioning server-class hardware in a data center, and may include hybrid work.

It is restricted to U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience running Linux at scale in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, support, and maintain servers, operating systems, and related applications.
• Monitor system performance, identify constraints, and implement optimizations to improve performance and assess future resource needs.
• Automate repetitive tasks and improve system scalability, reliability, and security, leveraging scripting languages and automation tools.
• Implement end-to-end IT projects and collaborate with vendors to ensure successful implementation.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
