Role Overview

IMI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced server administrator to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT infrastructure, with a particular focus on Windows environments and virtualisation technologies. This position will report to the Global IT Infrastructure Director.

This role is critical to ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our server infrastructure. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for managing and maintaining core infrastructure, performing system monitoring and maintenance and providing support to the business.

This is a regional role for the AMER region (Americas) but will also require liaison with other regions to ensure adherence to global standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of Windows server environment: Management and oversight of a large-scale Windows server environment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Security and vulnerability management: Spearhead initiatives to implement industry-leading best practices in security and vulnerability management, enhancing IT resilience and recovery capabilities.
  • Technical Leadership in complex issue resolution: Serve as technical authority for the region, providing expert troubleshooting and remediation for complex technical issues involving Microsoft Active Directory, VMware ESX, and Nutanix AHV.
  • Backup infrastructure management: Oversee the support and maintenance of core backup infrastructure, ensuring IT system resilience and driving the adoption of best practices in backup and recovery strategies.
  • Hybrid infrastructure: Collaborate with and direct subject matter experts to design and deliver a high-quality hybrid infrastructure leveraging cloud-based services (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS) on Microsoft platforms, exceeding business expectations.
  • IP-Telephony: Providing support on cloud-based and on-prem IP telephony infrastructure and participating in the migration process to Microsoft Teams Phone.
  • Service Level Agreements: Ensure the delivery of responsive support to maintain and exceed business-driven Service Level Agreements for critical infrastructure and services.
  • Policy and procedure development: Own the development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures and policy documentation, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Infrastructure: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT administration (preferably wthin a large environment), giving an in-depth understanding of Windows Server operating systems and virtualisation platforms such as Nutnaix, VMware and/or Hyper-V. Experience of SAN/NAS systems would also be beneficial)
  • Cloud expertise: Extensive experience in moving workloads to and from a cloud infrastructure (preferably MS-Azure)and supporting/troubleshooting the migration process
  • Networking working knowledge: Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related issues.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation
  • Security: Experience with security monitoring and compliance standards
  • Prioritisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer Focus: Understanding and addressing the needs of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions

Pay range: $100,000 - $115,000

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
