Job summary

Nisga’a CIOPS is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to ensure stable operation of in-house computer software systems and network connections. You will plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links.

The role supports DoD and civilian customers with a focus on information processing and secure infrastructure across multiple locations. A SECRET clearance and DoD IAT certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or higher.
• DoD 8570 Baseline Certification required (IAT II/III).
• SECRET clearance is required for access to DoD information.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and directs configuration and operation of information management systems.
• Analyzes and resolves end-user software and connectivity issues.
• Performs capacity and performance analysis and recommends changes.
• Uses automation to increase efficiency and trains staff on procedures.
• Provides end-user training and supports remote/onsite systems across locations.
• Offers recommendations on technology direction aligned with business goals.
• Maintains and upgrades servers and applications, including new installs.
• Directs other system admins to optimize resources and assist users.
• Applies advanced knowledge of application networking and load balancing.
• Performs vulnerability management.

Nisga’a CIOPS delivers cleared professionals to support civilian and DoD customers worldwide across intelligence support, cyber/defensive cyber operations, IT O&M, infrastructure modernization, training, and logistics.

Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator ensures stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

• Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems.
• Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues.
• Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
• Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment.
• Provides end user training.
• Provides recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.
• Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location.
• Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications.
• Directs the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance.
• Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance.
• Performs vulnerability management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• Certification: Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
• Ten (10) years specialized experience (Specialized experience is defined as progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, where the majority are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions.
• At least four years of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software).
• 8570/8140: DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT II or IAT III
• Computing Environment: Server Admin M and Domain Admin Z (Cloud or Microsoft Operating System per DLA Approved CE).
