Job summary

Skylo Technologies seeks a System Test Engineer to design and execute QA strategies for Skylo’s NTN. You’ll ensure reliability, performance, and conformance to 3GPP standards across device, RAN, and core network layers.

You will lead test planning, execution, and analysis for features, field deployments, and customer-facing services, with focus on automation and cross-functional collaboration. Mountain View onsite 3 days a week.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in system test or validation engineering or acceptance testing for large-scale, distributed telecom systems.
• Strong understanding of 3GPP cellular protocols (LTE/5G/NBIOT-NTN) with emphasis on RAN and Core Network components.
• Strong QA processes—from defining acceptance criteria to test requirements and suites.
• Hands-on system integration, performance benchmarking, and end-to-end validation.
• Hands-on load testing, chaos testing, fault injection, efficiency testing.
• Protocol validation and device testing using AT commands and UE emulators.
• RESTful API testing with Postman and gRPC APIs.
• Scripting in Bash/Python/Go/Ruby and Jenkins workflow execution.
• Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional communication skills.
• Experience using AI tools to augment testing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate NTN system functionality, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with system architects, software developers, and network engineers to define test strategies.
• Conduct integration, interoperability, and regression testing across device, RAN, core network, and satellite segments.
• Perform lab-based and field-based testing to validate performance under real-world conditions.
• Analyze and debug complex system issues across hardware, software, and network layers.
• Define KPIs, collect telemetry, and assess observability tools for validation.
• Document test results and drive issue resolution with development teams.
• Actively participate in test automation and improve test coverage.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in system validation methodologies.
