Shield AI is seeking a System Security Engineer to lead cybersecurity across X‑Bat and its mission systems, networks, ground systems, and support infrastructure. This role directly impacts mission survivability, operational resiliency, platform accreditation, and program execution by ensuring cybersecurity is integrated and sustained across the system lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 8+ years in cybersecurity engineering for defense or aerospace.
• Experience leading cybersecurity for complex defense platforms.
• Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, hardening, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with hardware-software-network-mission integration.
• Ability to obtain a Security clearance (S/SSP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own platform cybersecurity strategy and architecture across aircraft and mission systems.
• Define requirements, security architectures, threat models, and workflows.
• Lead RMF execution, accreditation, STIGs, and vulnerability management.
• Drive cross-functional integration with systems engineering, avionics, software, and networks.
• Support cybersecurity testing, incident response, and risk mitigation.
