Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, System Safety Engineer in Palm Bay, FL. Lead safety analyses across airborne programs, including cockpit displays, mission processors, and sensors, with hazard analysis, causal analysis, risk assessment, and safety program planning.

Responsibilities include developing safety plans and reports, presenting risk assessments at reviews, and coordinating hardware-software interfaces while ensuring government requirements and DOORS/Cameo

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; or graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience with MIL-STD-882E, ARP4754A, ARP4761.
Knowledge of DO-178/DO-254 development processes.
Ability to obtain US Government clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead hazard analyses and safety risk assessments per MIL-STD-882E, ARP4754A, ARP4761.
Develop System Safety Program Plans, Hazard Analyses, and Safety Assessment Reports.
Present safety cases at customer design reviews.
Coordinate with hardware, software, and performance teams.
Prepare estimates, schedules, and metrics for management.
Collaborate with Government customers to define requirements for verification and validation.
Document safety artifacts in DOORS and Cameo.
Travel to customer sites when required.
Maintain eligibility for security clearance.
