Job summary

Kroll is seeking a Senior System Engineer (Level 3) to support a mission-critical Intelligence Community program at Fort Meade, MD. This on-site role requires active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph and hands-on Linux/STE/STN expertise in classified environments.

You will lead system engineering activities across lifecycle, produce architecture docs and ICDs, and act as the senior technical authority within a small team interfacing with users and adjacent technical teams.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required prior to start.
• 8+ years of systems engineering experience in classified DoD/IC environments.
• Strong Linux proficiency across RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux: install, configure, hardening.
• Experience with FreeIPA and Active Directory integration on Linux.
• Hands-on STE/STN in classified environments.
• GOTS software experience: installation, maintenance of government-provided software.
• Scripting in Bash/Python for automation and operations.
• Ability to create/modify system docs and drawings (ICDs, test plans, as-builts).

Responsibilities

• Work across all phases of the system engineering lifecycle from concept to sustainment.
• Produce technical documentation and drawing packages (system architectures, ICDs, test plans).
• Translate requirements into system designs and participate in reviews and TIMs.
• Serve as senior technical authority within a small, mission-focused team.
• Support configuration management and baseline management throughout the lifecycle.
• Install, configure, and harden Linux server environments in classified enclaves.
• Manage STE/STN provisioning and operations in connected/disconnected environments.
• Coordinate with security personnel on STE/STN end-to-end integration.
• Design and execute system-level test plans and troubleshooting across complex systems.
