Job summary

Luxoft seeks a System Engineer/DevOps Engineer to contribute to Linux-based engineering, automation, and virtualization for a high-performance data management system serving global financial markets. You will participate in planning, design, and deployment across medium-to-large infrastructures, applying expertise in Linux, Windows, VMware, Solace PubSub+, and related tech.

You will design and modify software across teams, perform testing, and ensure alignment with long-term IT strategy.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment with little daily supervision.
• 5+ years' experience as a Linux, Windows, VMWare, and Solace systems engineer or equivalent DevOps role in an enterprise environment.
• IT lab administrator experience for maintaining test environment health.
• Expert-level understanding of Linux (RHEL 7.x and 8.0), Windows Server 2008-2019, Vsphere 6.x and 7.0, Solace PubSub+ and related software.
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux-based hardware platforms (e.g., IBM, HP, Dell).
• Thorough understanding of RAID storage and TCP/IP networking.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze requirements and provide design recommendations for complex systems.
• Works with project teams to define and design the scope for each project.
• Collaborates with planners and technology architects to ensure systems align with IT long-term strategy.
• Provides design recommendations and develops application and integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces.
• Makes complex modifications to existing software in line with specifications and standards.
• Reviews effort to ensure compliance with architecture standards.
• Develops cross-functional software systems using disciplined development processes.
• Carries out unit testing and implements cross-functional systems to meet client needs.
• Researches new and emerging technologies.
• Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to development teams.
• Utilizes multiple programming languages and software technologies.
• Performs firmware/OS upgrades and troubleshoots system issues; arranges hardware replacements/upgrades for platforms including HPE Synergy.

These projects are technically demanding and operate in a highly engaging environment.We seek a System Engineer / DevOps Engineer to contribute to the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, and modification of medium to large-scale infrastructures. This role focuses on Linux-based engineering, automation, and virtualization solutions that support real-time development environments.
