Job summary

Arycs Technologies in Los Gatos, California is seeking a System Engineer of Coherent Optical DSP and Transceivers to join a small, highly focused team and lead the design, development, testing, and validation of optical transceivers for use in datacom and telecom networks.

The role requires close collaboration with DSP ASIC and optical transceiver design teams to evolve DSP algorithms, reduce power consumption, and ensure products meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• MS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience in optical DSP or related field.
• PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience accepted.
• Experience modeling and simulation of end-to-end digital communication systems using MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or C/C++.
• Experience in optical communication components and system modeling and simulation is a plus.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% for collaboration meetings.

Responsibilities

• Innovate, develop and validate system-level models of coherent DSP algorithms and optical transceiver components.
• Evaluate transceiver performance via simulations under various fiber conditions to meet system requirements.
• Create specifications and validation plans for all simulation components and environments.
• Collaborate with the DSP ASIC team to implement and verify DSP algorithms for optimized ASICs.
• Proactively improve optical transceiver designs to reduce power and cost while boosting performance.
