Overview:

A highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer is needed to join the Systems Engineering team in a hybrid role based in Salt Lake City. This position requires in-office presence three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing solutions to complex IT challenges—focusing on Linux systems, security, automation, and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable Linux-based infrastructure, including containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker
Manage systems deployed on public cloud platforms such as AWS and Alibaba Cloud
Enforce strong IT systems hardening and security practices to protect infrastructure and sensitive data
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and maintenance using Terraform and Ansible
Develop scripts using Bash and Python for automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Monitor system logs and performance; implement infrastructure monitoring, reporting, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability
Design and implement enterprise-level backup and disaster recovery solutions
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to provide support for critical infrastructure issues

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-level Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, OEL)
3+ years of experience deploying and managing Kubernetes and Docker environments
5+ years of experience scripting in Bash and Python for infrastructure automation
2+ years of experience using Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code
Proven experience automating complex infrastructure tasks to increase efficiency and reliability

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
