Monett, MO Contract Aug 11, 2026
Senior System/Network Engineer
Department: IT Infrastructure
Location: Fully Remote (must be able to work Eastern or Central time hours)
Role Type: Contract - 9 months, with potential to extend to 12 months or longer.
Our client is a financial technology company providing payment processing and technology solutions to the financial services industry, serving more than 9,000 customers nationwide with a portfolio of 300+ products. The company has supported remote work for its associates even before it became an industry norm, while still maintaining an active, connected office culture through regular team events and celebrations. Associates can expect a collaborative environment that balances serious, high-availability technical work with a strong emphasis on team culture and employee engagement.
Under minimal supervision, the Senior System/Network Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining systems that ensure acceptable availability, stability, and response time for customers. This includes systems spanning the data center, network, operating system, product development, mail server, application server, and groupware environments. The role carries significant ownership - from architecting infrastructure solutions to writing the security policies and procedures that govern them - and requires sound independent judgment when evaluating complex, variable technical problems.
This position also includes participation in a 24x7 on-call support rotation, as well as ownership of backup/restore testing and periodic disaster recovery (DR) plan testing. The Senior System/Network Engineer will work alongside other support groups on server-based applications, evaluate new technology solutions, and provide limited field supervision of technical objectives. Experienced engineers in this role are also expected to mentor and assist less experienced peers.
